Hackney Town Hall wedding photographer
When Tom first messaged me and asked if I could photograph his small low-key wedding at Hackney Town Hall, I knew straight away it was going to be a "Yes" from me. We had met the year prior when I photographed his best friend's wedding (check out this blog post to see the photos from the day) and he was officiating their wedding blessing. He told me his fiancé Shana and him were doing a very small and intimate wedding in London as their main celebration was scheduled in India a few months later.
The plan for the day was simple - a short legal ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, followed by photos with the guests outside the building, a short walk to a nearby pub (The Cock Tavern) for a first pint as a married couple, and an intimate dinner at Osteria Angelina in Spitalfields. And for the couple's wedding portraits we took a short walk around Spitalfields as the area fitted their low-key and London wedding vibes perfectly.
There is something very special about micro weddings - you get to know the guests very quickly and you really feel like you are a part of that small group celebrating two people exchanging vows. The warmth, friendship, connection and love I felt that day was incredible - I even got teary-eyed listening to the groom's speech. And the testimonial I received from Tom and Shana after delivering their gallery made me so utterly grateful and beyond happy that I could have been a part of their special day.
“We hired Alina because she’d done a great job photographing the wedding of my best friend. I’d met her on the day and loved her energy. When it came to our wedding day, she couldn’t have been any more professional and lovely. She blended in so that sometimes you forget she was there and that’s when the best photos came from. She captured so many amazing natural moments that we already treasure. When we got the photos through, we spent two hours cooing over them - they are beyond anything we’d imagined.”
