I was very excited to meet this newborn baby boy at home as it was not long after the Covid-19 restrictions had been eased and we were allowed into people’s homes again. The truth is, I missed photographing babies and meeting the families. I love seeing tiny babies and swapping parenting stories with new (or seasoned) mums and dads. So I was thrilled to be asked to photograph baby Jesse at nearly four weeks old.
There is never a one-fit-formula for my newborn sessions. They are very much dictated by the babies themselves. Some are very chilled and content and can be moved around between various members of the family. And some are a little bit upset, require more cuddles or feeding, and tend to stay with either mum or dad. In this situation, baby Jesse wanted feeding during our session, so the whole family hung around in the parents’ bedroom and just enjoyed the moment. There were lots of cuddles, hugging, smiles, joking and it was just wonderful to see how this new family of four has embraced this new chapter of their lives.
We had a home family photo session with our 3 year old son and newborn baby baby boy. We are so happy that we used Alina, she came highly recommended from my brother and sister in law, and I can see why! Alina captured natural, relaxed photos of us all spending time together which was great for my husband as he isn’t keen on posing for photos! We really enjoyed the session, and my little boy particularly loved it as Alina was great at engaging with him, he found it all very fun. Alina is very calm and friendly, kept us all at ease and relaxed which helped create some lovely photos! Alina is an amazing photographer and we are absolutely thrilled with the beautiful photos we have received, and the style in which they are taken. They are better than I could have ever imagined and will always be cherished …. they capture such a special time in our lives.
